Title: Trends and Developments in NERC Standards, CAISO Compliance, Disruptive Generation and CIP Compliance


Description

NERC standards covering generator controls, protection relays, and computer infrastructure security apply to both synchronous and asynchronous generation. The panel will discuss approaches to applying these standards to achieve compliance, and how similar requirements for validation of controls are now being applied to some non-NERC entities in California. In addition, how renewables and other "disruptive generation", is impacting reliability and developments in managing the evolving grid is discussed.
